Whenever I try to send an image, the user gets a cid:XXXXXXX instead.
I've tried from gmail, mail, outlook. It doesn't matter if I click-and-drag from a website or from finder.
Any ideas?
By the way, using the most updated version of High Sierra, Mail for Mac...

Use html not Rich Text formatting.
Are you sending the emails as content type html?
Can you send email with embedded images from your Gmail webmail?
I am using Rich Text as the normal setting for my messages. The message in question was not an html.
In a test, I just dragged a picture from Finder and dropped in the mail message and e-mailed to my gmail and my outlook.com. Both showed cid:
Apple's Mail doesn't have that option: Rich Text or Plain text.
You said you are using Outlook. Does it do the same thing in Outlook?
Yes. Same thing.
Then I'm out of ideas if Outlook sending as HTML does not work. Someone else may have a suggestion.
