music doesn't advance in slideshow preview

In the last version of iPhoto I could arrow through the photos in Play mode and the music would advance accordingly and I could adjust the duration of photos to make the two match. Now when I try to adjust the duration of slides to match the music, the music won't advance in either Play mode or Preview mode. Is there a way to do this (advance the music with the advance of Photos)?

I upgraded to High Sierra which included the new Photos 3.0

The timing on many of my old slideshows changed and the music is no longer synced.

I found a "work around" for this issue.

In any Theme except Classic and Magazine you can advance to one of your slides and then click Preview and the music will match the position in the Slideshow. You still can not arrow forward or back though, but if you stop the Preview and advance to another slide and click Preview again the music will again advance.

Not as convenient as the old version of iPhoto, but at least you don't have to watch a whole slideshow to see if the music matches a change in Events say.
