iCloud email troubles

I am receiving periodic emails addressed to an email address that is the same as mine but ends in @icloud.com instead of @me.com (let's say mine is myname@me.com and I am receiving emails to myname@icloud.com). This has been happening sporadically for quite a while. I have tried to contact the other person by responding to some of the emails with no success. I have seen this same issue on the forum several years ago, but no recent replies. Does anyone know how to address this and fix the problem? I worry that there are emails I may not be receiving.
