Drummer swing not working

Hi Internet,

really just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, the swing on drummer seems not to be working, that is, it actually flips from none to extreme when I turn it past a certain point, so there's no varying degrees. I think it might be to do with a lack of space on my machine, only around 4.5GB at the mo, so I'm going to be offloading a bunch of files when the new external HD arrives to see if that helps.

MacBook Air, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)

On some rythms, swing 1/16 has little effect. Try swing 1/8 instead.

It is not likely that: it all works, except the swing parameter. Things do not break that way in software.

Also, changing parameters in the Drummer sometimes needs a little time (few seconds, at most). If you turn a knob, the parameter doesn't follow the movement of the knob as immediately as it does in most plugins.

Too little room on your SSD could affect it like that (swapping memory gets exceedingly difficult and may take much more time than it should), but I wouldn't know, I have never gone smaller than at least 45 GB free, and you should also keep that as the absolute minimum for a system disk. So, get an external, and move bulky files (photos, videos, audio) there. Do not (or very sparingly) save files to your SSD, only save files to a non-system disk.

So: 4,5 GB free on a system disk is WAY to little. You will run into other issues. You should move at least 40 GB to another disk, and trash it from the SSD.
Chances are all sorts of parameters will take more time to update, simply because the system doesn't have enough disk space to work smoothly.

For a files-only disk this doesn't matter - you can fill those to the last megabyte.
