Mail app not sending email with attachment like photo/pdf

Since the last iOS update the mail app on my iPhone X is not sending emails with a photo, screenshot or pdf attachments. I get the 'whoosh' sound indicating that the mail is sent. But the recipient does not get the mail at all and nor does it show in the Sent folder on my iPhone.

I even tried using another email account but the result is the same.

iPhone X, iOS 11.2.6

I contacted Apple support. They asked me to delete my email accounts on the phone and reinstall them again. This solved the problem. Putting it here just in case anyone else has the same problem.

I can Send and Receive regular emails, the problem only occurs when i try to send a photo or pdf from my iPhone via the mail app. It even asks me to chose the file size and on clicking send, I get the whoosh sound indicating my mail has gone. But the recipient does not get it, nor does it show in my Sent folder. Please fix this bug. I'm surprised more people have not complained about this issue.
