i sent an itunes gift to the wrong email today that has been redeemed but the email I used appears unavailable. How could the gift be redeemed?

I can't see the Resend button for the gift in my account and that's how I assume it is redeemed, but when I emailed the address I used to warn her I was pursuing the refund, my email bounced back saying the inbox was unavailable.


Would someone redeem a gift and then in just a few hours close down their email account? Isn't that a bit OTT?

This is why I'm wondering if maybe there is another reason for not being able to see the RESEND button in the account...

It seems when you email an iTunes gift to an unavailable/unexistent email with a delivery date of “today” it takes a while (4/5 hours) for the RESEND button to become available in your iPhone Settings/Itunes & App Stores account/Apple ID/ Gifts section so that you can correct the email address and resend it to the intended recipient.

The gift is charged right away to your account so trying to get it back by stopping the payment from going through is not an option!
