Hide timezone from calendar month view?

Ever since a recent update either in iOS or High Sierra (or both) in mid February, all my events in the calendar show the timezone detail right by the time like this : 09:30 UTC-4. But I don't use timezone management (settings are all off on all my devices).

How can I hide this absolutely useless information making my calendar more cumbersome then it already is? I cannot find anyone with this problem or any recent information on this.

I found a way to not display the time zone. You activate the time zone support and upon creating an event, you choose "flexible" as the time zone. Now, this cannot be set as the default time zone (I couldn't find a way to do it) so you have to change it every time, therefore it's not really a solution...

It makes no difference, I tried creating events with or without time zone support, with or without specifying a time zone (it specifies one for me). The time zone detail is added when I create an event in my calendar. All my events prior to February 10th have only the time detail. Event created since February 10th (possibly there was an update to High Sierra around this time) all have the time zone detail, this makes me think it's not a "display" issue.
