Aperture 3.6 keeps crashing. I use high sierra operating system on a MacBook Pro retina. Problem mostly occurs when I am doing retouching of photos in adjustments.  I seldom if ever had this problem when I used Aperture 3 with operating system Mavricks. I have had the information sent to Apple repeatedly.  I have rebuilt the photo base and it seems to have made no difference.

Do a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.Quit the application.Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Library. Then go to Preferences. Look for a .plist with Aperture in the name. Move the .plist to your desktop.Restart the computer, open the application, and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.Thanks to leonie for some information contained in this.

Ok lets try again, click on your Desktop, to make Finder active, now open a New Finder Window in the sidebar click on your Home folder, the little house. no press Command-J, you should now see panel displayed where you can select to show the Library folder.Now proceed with the instructions Eric gave you for finding the plist and removing it, restarting etc.Apple no longer support Aperture so no real point in getting in touch with them.

When I go to finder I don&#x27;t see anything called user/home folder.  If I go to finder/view show view options command j, I just see a pane that refers to icon size.  Please walk me through this assuming more ignorance on my part.  I am not getting to first base here.

I moved the aperture .plist to the desktop.  I restarted the computer and tested the application.  It still crashed.  Before I did anything else I did not see a new .plist in the library preferences.  I don&#x27;t know if I should have.  At any rate I just returned the .plist to where I found it.   Does that automatically do what you call overwriting.  If so do you suspect that that might fix the problem?

I replaced the aperture .plist.  Did a test of adjusting photo and it still crashes.  Solution suggested does not seem to work.
