Apple Mail says "account already exists"
This is a continuation of the 11/2017 thread. I had to delete my Apple Mail account (Verizon/AOL servers) on the advice of a forum contributor because it kept forgetting the outgoing server. Having done that, I tried to recreate my account through either Mail or System Preferences. I entered all the information, including the correct password, but I get the "account already exists" error. I am unable to access Mail's preferences because my only option is to Quit; Mail doesn't run. Thanks for any suggestions.
