Problems with voice during CarPlay calls since iOS 11.3

Hey everybody,

since the iOS 11.3 update, I've got problems with calls in my Seat Car. When people call me and my iPhone 7 is connected via CarPlay with my car, people hear my voice distorted/ blurred which makes it hard or impossible for them to understand mr. If my phone is connected via bluetooth, the call will work perfectly and my voice is just fine.

Does anybody have the same problem oder encountered anything similar? I would really appreciate any kind of feedback!

Dear all,

I'm experiencing the same problems when calling using CarPlay on 11.3.

I have done the following actions trying to resolve the this:

1. Turned Siri on

2. Restarted phone

3. Official Apple USB Cable

4 And have the latest version of 11.3

This unfortunately resulted in no change and still have the issues. After these actions, I have restored my phone back to IOS 11.2.6 and the problems when gone.

Please Apple solve this issue because this is really annoying for people when I call, and I have to switch to bluetooth to have a normal call.

That sounds like you are using the wrong USB port, I get it when I use the secondary port, which radio do you have?

Same issue, tried all as instructed,

Iphone 6s using carplay on Skoda octavia .

Apple denying theres an issue when there clearly is!!!!!😠

Another poster said this problem is fixed with 11.4. Poster was member of beta program. Can anyone else with this problem confirm it's fixed with 11.4?

I'm on 11.4 (15F5079a) and the issue is still present on iPhone 7 128GB device and VW Jetta MK6 USA.

I was afraid of this. None of the changelog or release notes for 11.4 have said anything about addressing carplay call issues.

iOS 11.4 beta 6 sorted the JVC out... however I’m dumping it for the alpine ilx 702d

iOS 11.4 pubblic relase installed and the problem is solved. From the changelog: “Fixes an issue where CarPlay audio could become distorted”.

Same for me. With iOS 11.4 Final (15F79), CarPlay in my VW Golf works great again!

Confirmed it works for me with a 7+ and a Kenwood DDX6904s. Shame on Apple for blaming Kenwood!
