4K tv frozen and will not restart

Apple TV hardware appears to be not working properly. My OLD Apple TV device appears to be frozen. When I turn it on, the screen comes up with two options: computers and settings, both of which appear to be dead ends. I'm assuming it was a new update, but cant find anything about it.

Apple tv froze on TV os update After ~3 hours of waiting for the update to finish installing the Apple TV the light on the box is still flashing and the progress bar is stuck just short of the end of step 2. Any advice on how to proceed? Is it safe to unplug or will this brick the unit? thank you mike

Pull the power cord and try again.
