Select automation by clicking a parameter - not working on current update?

Logic 10.4.1 seems to have got rid of a very useful function, which was to automatically select an automation parameter on the track just by clicking that parameter's rotary or fader in the plugin window, or in the case of aux sends just by clicking the rotary for the send. This function really sped up automation workflow, but has stopped working in the current update. Is there an option to turn this back on or is it no longer available?
