CarPlay phone static

when my iPhone 7plus running iOS 11.3 is connected to CarPlay some (not all) calls are static (house land phones incuded) but via blue tooth is ok

what can this be

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)

When connected to CarPlay my phone disconnects from Bluetooth my iPhone works ok on Bluetooth in my vehicle, when I plug it in to use CarPlay it disconnects from Bluetooth and also I cannot use it on hands free I have to unplug from CarPlay to make a call or receive a call

Please post updates. I have same exact problem with current IOS 11.4 and a 2017 GMC Yukon. Started with IOS 11.3 - replaced cords and tried lots of things. It’s an IOS issue.

I have a Kia stinger as well and this problem is embarrassing!!

Thanks for replying, lightlyoz, and that additional info, it really helps! Because this only happens when calling land lines, your next step is to contact your carrier, and if your issue still isn't resolved, contact Apple for further help.

I ended up disabling CarPlay in iOS and just connect via USB like the pre-CarPlay days. No static.

*** Apple? Two releases later and you still can’t fix the static issue with CarPlay? 11.4 is still crap on this front.

I have this issue with my 2016 Chevy Tahoe. I even got my phone replaced by Apple 2 weeks ago because they were baffled with this issue. Apple please fix this bug...it's so annoying!
