Songs stuck at Waiting on iTunes in Windows 10

I have the latest version of iTunes installed on my Windows 10 laptop.

It is a new laptop, and due to the way iTunes works, I had to reformat my iPod and try to re-download my songs from iTunes before synching to my iPod.

So, I opened iTunes, went to Account > Purchased, then selected all my songs, right-clicked and chose download.

If I click on the Download icons in the top right of the iTunes window, it shows the list of songs, but they all have the Waiting status.

It sits like this indefinitely, and does not download any of them.

I've left the laptop overnight, and it does not download any of them.

I've turned my laptop off and on, then tried again, and it still does the same thing.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply.

It did not actually fix the problem, but deleting that folder did give me another error, and I was able to track down this forum post: If you see a -45054 error in the iTunes Store - Apple Support

Doing this resolved the problem, and I was able to download songs again.

Solution (in case link above breaks):

  1. If it's open, quit iTunes.
  2. Press the Windows key on your keyboard. If your keyboard doesn't have a Windows key, press the Control (Ctrl) and Escape (Esc) keys on your keyboard.
  3. Click on the magnifying icon or search field. In the search box, type
    %ProgramData%
, then press the Return key.
  4. Show any hidden files:
Windows 10: Click View, then select "Hidden items."
Windows 8: Click View, then click Options. On the View tab, select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives."
Windows 7: Click Organize, then "Folder and search options." On the View tab, select "Show hidden files, folders, and drives."
  5. Open the Apple Computer folder, then the iTunes folder.
  6. Delete the adi and SC Info folders: Right-click each folder and choose Delete from the menu.
  7. Restart the computer.
  8. Open iTunes and try to make a purchase. <-- (In my case, it was just downloading the music again)
