App Store (audio) Draining Battery

Hey I had the same problem but I actually think that I have solved the problem. What you need to do is go in to settings> iTunes&app store> auto playback of videos and turn that of. That worked for me, now I don’t have the issue anymore. Hope it works for you to

Try to turn off the AUTOMATIC DOWNLOADS (Settings->iTunes & App Store) for

• Music
• Apps
• Books & Audiobooks
• Updates

I had same issue on iPhone 6 when turn on for options: Apps and Updates, while not seeing such issue when those 2 options are off on iPhone 7P. So I guess this might help.

The same thing is happening to me. I have an iPhone X and i tried calling apple care and they were no help, they went through the usual battery saving techniques and still have yet to see improvement and mines 63% which is crazy. I paid $1000 for this phone, i’d like it to work the way it should

Restart your phone:

Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

And then monitor it going forward. If it happens again, you can also use the app-switcher to shut down the App Store.

I have this same issue. I have also restored the iphoneSE with a clean installation of ios 11.3 and the issue still persists.

The app store uses "audio" and drains anywhere from 30-90% of the battery.

I have the same issue. My case is currently with a specialists at Apple. All steps to reduce battery drainage was taken before going into an Apple store, it made no difference. From there, the case has moved from a consultant to an advisor then to a manager and nobody has a clue or a solution for the issue. The phone was factory reset twice it also made no difference. No update yet. Will keep you posted if they come up with a solution.

Yesterday, I installed the iOS beta Profile so I could update from iOS 11.3.1 to iOS 11.4 beta and this fixed the problem for me. Now my battery does not drain anymore due to the AppStore. Hope this helps people with this issue

I have an appointment at an Apple store on Monday to do some advance diagnostic with this same issue that I am having on my 7+ running 11.3.1. I will update if I get anything helpful to share with you all.

Same issue on my 8+

Tryed a factory reset at first and did a backup, second time I set it up as a new iPhone and the problem accured right away. Did a soft reset and for now that seems to work but it will come back, it has done like this sens 11.3.1 update. It's very frustrating because you don't know when it will happen so you have to keep an eye on the battery so it don't drains

Last night I went to bed with 31% and wake up 8 hours later with a dead phone. When plugged in app store shows 43%. When I got to bed it showed 13%. Usually shows 1-2% so something is very wrong

I have been in contact with Apple tech support and they wanted me to make some screen dumps and they will got back to Apple with it.

I don't have to charge my phone every night and I don't see how that would solve my problem?. App store is a battery drainer regardless of time so I want to have that issue fixed. Hopefully apple will fix this bug if it's in the os

I have had the same issue since updating to iOS11.3 and 11.3.1 on my iPhone 7+

I’ve spoken to a number of tech people including Apple and no one seems to know what the issue is. Have factory reset my phone and that seemed to help the battery drain during the day but at night doesn’t seem to solve the problem

I have kept my phone on charge the last week over night and that gives me a full day use of my phone however the last couple nights haven’t kept on charge as it has been fully charged before going to bed but on waking up it is completely drained.

Have tried all battery saving methods, have used low power mode over night and turned off notifications and data and still seems to be draining

Apple please fix this issue ASAP!

I have the same problem. My iPhone 7 is brand new as of March. Battery life started off amazingly but last week or so has been draining in a day when I haven’t even used it much. Battery usage shows that the App Store has used 50% of my battery on ‘audio’ with only a minute screen time. By the way I don’t have an Apple Watch so that’s not the problem here.

There is still no update because it is a problem with your phone, not with the 800 million other iPhones that have been updated. If you want to resolve the problem you will have to troubleshoot your phone, not expect Apple to fix a non-problem with a release.

Hi Lawrence. My phone was fine until I installed ios 11.4. I went to Apple and they wiped my phone and reinstalled and same thing happened. I had a backup saved of 11.3 which I used to restored to and wow the problem dissapeared. So the problem is software related and not the phone as I have had my phone 2 years and this only happens on 11.4.
