App Store (audio) Draining Battery

Hello,

Lately I've noticed App Store (audio) has drained 84% of my battery in the last 24 hours and it has only been open 2 minutes. Is this a bug in the new iOS? I noticed my battery was draining ridiculously fast even after I was asleep at night and there was no use of the cellphone.

I've attached 4 screenshots. Any assistance is appreciated! Thanks.User uploaded fileUser uploaded fileUser uploaded fileUser uploaded file

I had the exact same problem as everyone is describing. Was told to do a factory reset so I did that then restored an old backup to get all my old data back. The problem persisted so I took it to the Apple store today and they said I should do a factory reset again but instead of restoring it from a previous backup, go to settings, general, reset, 'erase all content and settings' . Then when it starts back up click 'set up as new iPhone'. DO NOT RESTORE AN OLD BACKUP. It is a bit of a pain to have to re-download everything but if you store data in the cloud its not too much hassle. It worked for me, hope this helps!

I had this problem too on my iPhone 7 Plus that Is not even a year old. I called apple support twice and the first time they said to turn off any battery draining stuff and I was left with 3 apps and my battery was still draining then they said to get the battery replaced which was ridiculous because it’s still a new phone. I spoke to a senior advisor and he told me to restore my phone using iTunes. So far it has worked and although the App Store was still there where the battery usage shows it decreased a lot to 1 percent when it used to be 40% and today the App Store stopped showing up.

To do this open up iTunes and go to summary and click restore.

Although it’s been working for me for about a week now I wouldn’t say this is permanent fix but this is better than having to wake up with my phone completely drained. I hope this works for others .

I’m having the exact same issue. Got 8 plus about 5 months ago and the battery was terrific. The new iOS 11.4 update has been draining my battery due to App Store audio by about 65-80% everyday! Definitely bug issue as I can say nothing else change in my phone except the update. Apple needs to fix this!!! $1000 for new phone and I could have kept my 6 with the same battery issues!! Apple your quality is slipping!

Same issue on my 8+

Tryed a factory reset at first and did a backup, second time I set it up as a new iPhone and the problem accured right away. Did a soft reset and for now that seems to work but it will come back, it has done like this sens 11.3.1 update. It's very frustrating because you don't know when it will happen so you have to keep an eye on the battery so it don't drains

Apple really need to figure this on out

I agree the backup was a restore which has fixed it. Speaking to Apple they thought it was an App Store bug in the latest download which is my belief too and Apple need to do an update to fix the App Store (if correct). Anyway i Appreciate the debate but I still believe that an update from Apple will correct this as it’s software driven. i look forward to 11.4 final version but I’m confident will correct my phone. Thanks

Restoring never replaces iOS with an earlier version. It restores the current version, then the latest user data backup, which can be from an earlier version. If you go to Settings/General/About or to Settings/General/Update what version does it say you have?

While it may be a bug in iOS, what triggers it? Clearly, it doesn't happen on all (or even most) phones. So what are the actual conditions that cause it? For example, an incomplete app update, Apple Music (if you are using it), etc. It would be valuable to know the conditions under which it happens. On my phone if I go to Settings/Battery App Store doesn't even appear, meaning it's less than 1%. I don't have Apple Music.
