My iPhone 7 is showing a purple hollow arrow next to Find my iPhone under Location/System Services. i know why it would put a solid purple arrow, but why a hollow arrow? Does find my iPhone use geofencing?
It's letting you know that location services is enabled for FMIP but is not currently in use
Why does it only come on part of the time? The toggle switch is set to on (green) so I know location services are avail. However, the hollow purple arrow only comes on every once in a while. Would it be because the app checked my location in the past several mins and now needs refreshed though the app is still open?

Except I think the time frame is a bit longer. There's an article somewhere on apple.com that gives the time frames for the hollow ones and the solid arrows. I can't seem to find it... it's around though : )
Under system settings it says that the hollow arrow appears under certain conditions. Does anyone know what those “certain conditions” are?
