Thunderbolt 27 display problems Windows 10

Hi.

I own a Macbook Pro mid 2013 which I bought with a thunderbolt display 27. I prefer Windows 10 to Mac OS, so that is my main OS. Since TB is not hotpluggable in WIndows, I usually leave my mac at the office and take a PC with me. This has worked ok, but occasionally I do take the computer home. Lately the macbook has started having problems with reconnecting to the display again if I take the computer with me or after I have used it without the tb display. I start over with the display connected to the TB port from power-up (either with the integral TB cable or another TB cable), but I only get picture on the internal screen. The TB27 stays black, but has got the sound and ethernet connections right.

- I have tried both TB ports of the mac.

- Sound, ethernet and other ports on the display work when connected before startup, but no picture.

- I have tried reinstalling nvidia (650m) drivers, as well as repaired bootcamp software

- I have tried resetting SMC/nvram (not sure if the latter does anything)

- Some times I have managed getting the picture back after a number of reboots hot and cold, but then it will loose the display if I take the computer with me or disconnect and reconnect

- Earlier today I once managed to get picture back after uninstalling graphics drivers, but then I lost it agian suddenly, and I haven't been able to reconnect after that.

- I am currently in OS X which works flawlessly with the display.

- Display seems to have latest firmware: 26, 2. Ports: 2.0.7.

- I have the latest version of Mac OS.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I actually managed to get it up and running again, but am not sure exactly what did the trick. Tried powering off (pulling the chord of) the display once again and moving thunderbolt, but I have done this several times without any effect. Someone recommended enabling fast boot in windows 10, but couldn't see any difference after doing that.

Another thing. Sometimes there is a chime, sometimes not. Often I have to press the power button several times to start the mac, especially while connected to the display.

Best regards

As I said, I am totally aware that hotplugging is not supported on my hardware. The problem is when connecting the display before powering up, after having started windows without the display previously. Ie I take the mac with me, use it with a single display (Internal), and when I get back, connect it and switch it on, it won't recognise the display portion of the TB display (ports work).
