Sound Issue With iTunes: music voices are faint

I'm having a bizarre problem with my Mac, whereby the music I play sounds great but the singing voices are very faint, like they're in a back room somewhere -- backup singers I can hear well, tho. I've tried everything I can think of -- which may not have helped much, like playing with the MIDI adjuster, running Boom, trying the built-in mixer, nada.

I've read of similar issues that Windows users have with iTunes, but I'm on MacOS High Sierra.

What can I do to fix this mess?

Thanks.

Mac Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.3)

Hello Forrest,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. I understand you've had some trouble with the stereo sound on your Mac Pro, and I have some information that may help.

In cases like this, it may help to reset the NVRAM on your Mac, which helps control sound levels, screen brightness and other minor setting parameters. You may need to readjust some of these settings afterward. Have a look at the article below to learn how.

If the issue persists, try the steps in the article below. If focuses on no sound at all, but the steps may help with your issue as well.
