Boot Camp Assistant does not have enough space even though it should.
I recently tried to use Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows 10 on my 2015 MacBook Air. During my research on how to do this, I started Boot Camp Assistant a couple of times just to check things out. I already had the ISO file downloaded and selected. I had enough space available to use to partition the disk and everything worked but I never actually hit install. Then I tried to backup my Mac to an external hard drive just in case something went wrong. I cancelled the backup because it was taking too long and I wanted to install Windows 10. I was finally ready to install it for sure this time and I opened up Boot Camp Assistant and did everything the same, however, when I press continue as soon as I open the app it gives me this error message:
The startup disk does not have enough space to be partitioned.
You must have at least 40 GB of free space available.
This is very odd since I had not changed anything since the last time I tried it except for starting a time machine backup. I tried redownloading the ISO file but that did not do anything. I tried restarting several times, doing first aid on my disk and nothing is letting me use Boot Camp Assistant. When I go to About This Mac, it tells me that I have 57 gigabytes available.
Can somebody please help me figure out how to use Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows 10?
Thanks
