Mac extremely slow and beachballing after Sierra update. I ran the EtreCheck report

Hi everyone,

I have a Macbook pro that I bought in 2013 but didnt use for 1.5 years in the middle. I recently restarted using it last month and it worked amazing, except the OS was 10.9. I updated it to Sierra and it worked fine even after the update! The next day I downloaded Microsoft Onenote. I'm not sure what happened but now it's extremely slow and constantly beachballing its almost impossible to use. I've already deleted onenote but it still won't improve.

Here is a report from Etrecheck:

Thanks! I think the issue is mostly resolved now! I think it was super slow because the update forced my disk to start encrypting. I used terminal to turn Firevault off and now it seems to work fine! Also I had to run your fsck -fy command a couple of times since it said "your disk was modified" after my laptop crashed a few times. 🙂
