Cat won't stop chewing Apple cables.

Our cat just chewed through our THIRD MacBook Pro charging cable. He also goes for the iPhone cables (only Apple brand ones). He doesn't chew any other cables. This is ridiculous! What's so enticing about Apple cables?? I wouldn't care so much if I didn't have to shell out $80 for every Mag Safe 2 charging adapter. And it's not like we're completely negligent. The first cable was chewed in less than a minute. After that we tried to be VERY careful, but it only takes one mess up. Walk out of the room for a second and it's too late.

Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative or a way to prevent this behavior?

Here's an idea:

It's a tube that you just open the side of and slip around the cord.

This also is known to discourage chewing: Fooey Ultra-Bitter Training Aid Spray, 8-oz spray - Chewy.com
