New Microsoft Store iTunes app not detecting/syncing with iPhone in Windows 10

Hello Apple Support Community,

Apple released their new iTunes app today (4/26/2018) for the Microsoft Store on Windows 10. When I installed the app and plugged in my iPhone 8, my device was not detected (hence, couldn't sync) within the app. The desktop version, however, did not have this problem. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Thanks.

iPhone 8, iOS 11.3.1, Windows 10 Home

Try iOS device not showing in iTunes for Windows. Update the driver even if iTunes sees the device.

Unfortunately, the instructions fail at step 9:

9. Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers or

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
then select the usbaapl.inf or usbaapl64.inf file inside. Depending on your view options in Explorer you might not see the .inf extension. If you don't see a file to select at all in the correct folder then repair Apple Mobile Device Support or reinstall iTunes

There is no Apple folder in either C:\Program Files\Common Files or C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files. Also the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver device is present but hidden.

Either or both of these could be because I am using the Microsoft Store version of iTunes.

Thanks. I had the same problem and this worked!!

Actually I now have another problem. iTunes can see my iPhone but not my iPad.

When I connect my iPad it asks me on the iPad to trust the computer, so I click on Trust and enter my PIN. When I start iTunes it asks me if I want to access content on the device. If I click on Continue, I get this error message:

I have the same problem. I also tried my iPad and the iTunes app is not seeing it. I authorized the computer, rebooted the computer, cycled power on my devices and that didn't help. The first time I plugged the iPhone in i get the following popup: "Allow this device to access photos and videos? This device will be able to access photos and videos while it is connected to you iPhone." I clicked allow.

I got it working.

Follow the "Windows 10" paragraph. I updated the driver for the iPhone, rebooted my computer and it immediately saw my iPhone. Your have to have admin permissions to update the driver. I was going to do the same thing with my iPad and when i plugged it in iTunes saw it.
