iTunes installer is too slow, too frequent

Every time I turn on my laptop, it seems I'm being asked to install a new version of iTunes. Apple, do you realize how annoying this is? 5 minutes (on high speed wifi/cable internet) to download and install a full product every week.

Why can't you figure out how to do incremental updates where only the changed files are swapped out? The tech to do this has been around for 15 years.
