Apple Pencil lag on iPad Pro 9”

Apple Pencil using with iPad Pro 9” 32gb

ios update latest on iPad i.e. 11.3.1

I am experiencing a major lag with my Apple Pencil.

Its even occurring with the simple Notes app. Forget any of the adobe paint apps. It’s as though I never touched the screen with the tip cause there’s no feedback from the Touch ... just broken lines. Or sometimes nothing. Anybody else experiencing this issue.?

Hey there, Neelk6,

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand that you're having trouble with your Apple Pencil. Specifically, when you try to use it, there doesn't seem to be a response. You may get a broken line, but it isn't working as expected. I'd be happy to help!

Based on what you've described, I would recommend first making sure your Apple Pencil is charged; you can do this by checking the charge level in the Widgets view on your iPad: Use widgets on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support , and you can charge the Apple Pencil if needed by plugging it into your iPad: Use Apple Pencil with iPad Pro and iPad (6th generation) - Apple Support . If there are any other iPad devices your Apple Pencil is paired with nearby, make sure they are powered off or that Bluetooth is disabled to avoid interference.

If you're still having trouble, unpair your Apple Pencil from your iPad with the below steps from Pair a third-party Bluetooth accessory with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support , and then set it up again using the steps in Use Apple Pencil with iPad Pro and iPad (6th generation) - Apple Support :

Unpair a Bluetooth accessory

To unpair a Bluetooth accessory, tap Settings > Bluetooth, find the device you want to unpair, and tap User uploaded file , then Forget this Device.

When you Forget this Device on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, that accessory is removed from the list of available Bluetooth devices. To add the Bluetooth accessory to your device again, place it back in discovery mode and repeat the steps above to pair it again.

Cheers.
