Changing duration of photos in iMovie

I am trying to set photos to the beat of a song, but iMovie seems to only allow duration to be changed in 0.1 second increments. Is there a way to set the duration to, say, 0.55 seconds instead of just 0.5 or 0.6? Thanks

I don;t believe you can set the duration to less than 0.1 sec. The best way to do what you want is to place your music in the music well at the bottom of the timeline window. Then add a black background in the timeline to match the length of the music. Play the music and add markers to the audio at the beat points. Now add your photos as connected clips to the background. You can drag then yo align with the markers and shorte them as you wish as they will align to the markers. Just play with it a bit and you'll see hqw it works.
