Bluetooth Voice becomes very slow

I have a Iphone 7+ and recently the last two month when using airpods or any bluetooth device the speech will slow down while im in the middle of a conversation. It is extremely annoying to the point you have to ask people to repeat themselves. Never does it while using the phone, only over the Bluetooth and on any device. I tried 4 different headsets and all have the issue.

I also have an iPhone 7, 128 GB, iOS 11.4. It's been happening to me the last couple weeks with my AirPods, but the below threads indicate it's a problem with all Bluetooth devices, all versions of the iPhone 7. But now on this thread it seems to be happening with iPhone 6 as well. Grrrr....

Also having the same problem with iPhone 6s/11.3.1 (though it's been happening for several versions now) using either Plantronics Voyager Edge or Jabra 510.

I will be on a call, and there will be a cutout of receiving audio, followed by the "tape slowed way down then winding up to speed" effect. Callers have told me that sometimes they'll hear my voice doing the opposite, i.e. 'chipmunking'.

Apple, you need to get this fixed ASAP or the iPhone platform is not business grade.

I am also having this problem on my iPhone 7 Plus. Any Bluetooth device including Plantronics Voyager 5200 (including a new unit I bought), AirPods (also new) and car Bluetooth. I also did a factory restore (set up as new iPhone) as well as an AppleCare hardware replacement. The issue was not resolved. I also am now unable to reliably use the phone for business calls and am seriously considering a move to another platform.

same problem, slow unintelligible speech for 2-3 seconds, can make it stop by switch to speaker or iphone. occurs on any bluetooth device. happens once or twice in a 10 min call, or not at all. very random. called apple support, they recommended i wipe my iphone clean as new phone, and see if that cures it. because of the huge time committment in doing that, i was wondering if anyone has found a solution. (phone 7plus max memory, Verizon). Also called Verizon, no help there either. Hoped the new version of IOS would solve, but didnt. This email is current as of june 12, 2018.

The same thing has been happening on my 7+ 128gb for about a year on just about every call over 1 minute. Paired with Chevrolet myLink system. It corrects itself within 3-4 seconds of the caller speech slowing. I do not have to swap to speaker and back to Bluetooth for it to stop. When this is happening the person on the other end hears my speech speed up like a chipmunk. I have to ask the caller to repeat themselves each time.
