canon mp495 install w/ high sierra

Hello,

I'm unable to install my Canon Pixma PM495 printer on my laptop. It's running High Sierra. I tried to download the driver from Canon's website but when I select High Sierra as my operating system I receive a message that reads "there is no driver for OS version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver." My laptop can't find the wireless printer (and yes, the printer is turned on). Anybody know what to do? Help, please!

Did you connect the printer to your LAN via its control panel? I have a Pixel MG 7720 and had to use the printer's control panel to select and connect to my LAN. Once it was connected it was easy for my iMac to connect to the printer.

This page describes how to do it for my Canon printer: Connecting via Wireless LAN. Don't know about your model.

Melanie ..

You're right. There is not High Sierra v10.13.x driver available for download from their website > https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/suppo rt-inkjet-printer/mp-series/pixma-mp495?subtab=downloads-drivers

You might try contact Canon support > Contact Us

You're sure you have entered the correct Wi-Fi password on the printer?

If not, there's an online manual available here > PIXMA MP495
