Carplay issues - No Siri voice after a few interactions

Can't find an exact replica of my issue already posted, so here goes.

I'm driving a 2016 Peugeot 2008. Listening to music and following map guidance is fine (although there's a different story there).

Problem is with using Siri. Example, just now I'm driving and get a text from my wife - Siri reads it out and i dictate a reply. What Siri reads back to me isn't quite what I said, so I dictate the message again. What gets read back is fine and the text is sent.

When my wife then responds to my text, Siri no longer reads it. On screen everything looks like it should, but there's no voice, if i dictate a message it looks like it works, but having no Siri to read it back to me I can't tell what my wife's text said or whether what I've dictated back has been capture correctly.

Simlarly if I use Siri to search for a song, works for a few times and then silence.

iPhone 7 Plus with 11.3.1. Many thanks.

Hello Fireplace_bhm,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it seems you are experiencing issues with Siri and CarPlay in your Peugeot 208. To help with this issue, please follow these steps, including contacting Peugeot for any available updates for your car stereo:

If CarPlay doesn't work like you expect, here’s what you can check. After each step, try using CarPlay again.

  1. Make sure that Siri is turned on.
  2. Restart your iPhone and your car. Depending on your car, you might see the CarPlay Home screen when you turn it on. If you don't, look for the CarPlay logo on your car’s display.
  3. If possible, connect your iPhone to a different USB port in your car.
  4. Try a different Lightning to USB cable. Make sure that the cable is certified.
  5. Update to the latest version of iOS.
  6. Check your car’s manual for help. You might need to install firmware updates for your stereo.

Hi

Have you find a solution?

I have installed a citroen ds3 device and carplay works fine, but have the same problem with siri that you are talking about:

- if you listen the radio from the device (not carplay)... you can call siri everytime that you want, and listen wathsapp answers without problems.

- if you listen an audio from the carplay itself (apple music, music, podcast, radio....) you can call Siri twice and then “siri stops speaking” so you can watch the “interface” but you can’t listen anything.

The problem is not “ask 3 times to siri” if you are listening something from carplay (you can live with it hehe), but the BIG PROBLEM is when you are listening your music, or a podcast and you reciebe a whtaspp, or a message and you can only listen the first one, then siri stop “speaking” and it doesn’t work anymore until the “carplay device” is restarted (power off the car, wait 10 minutes”)

All the ideas gave here are not the solution:

- the cable is original,

- I’m using iphone X with last ios version

- Siri is turned on (it works at the first time) and is allowed to listen “hey siri"

- There’s only one usb port.
