"An error occurred during activation" when logging into imessage

I have tried everything that Apple has recommended and still get this error. I can log into my icloud with no issues. Anyone know why this is happening?

What did Apple support say when you contacted them about the issue, since you've done the steps provided in the links multiple times and still no go.


Still not activated after a day?

It might take up to 24 hours to activate iMessage and FaceTime. If the issue continues after 24 hours, follow these steps:

Make sure that your device has the latest version of iOS.

If you're using an iPhone, contact your carrier to make sure that you can receive SMS messages.

Contact Apple Support.
