Icloud Windows 10 App Authentication error

Cannot Sign into the Icloud windows app on my windows 10 PC or my Windows 10 laptop (I can use anything else perfectly fine such as the icloud website, itunes etc). I enter my Apple and password sometimes it fails then and sometimes I get to the next step of using my Iphone 7 as two factor authorization. No matter what I get "An error occurred during authentication. Please try again"". So far I have; changed passwords, turning off (and back on) two factor authorization, uninstalling/installing the icloud app, adding firewall exceptions for the icloud app, disabling firewall while trying to sign into the icloud app. Can't seem to figure this out. This is quite frustrating since I recently decided to switch to icloud (and bought into the 50GB monthly plan) from google photos/drive since I just like how icloud works on the Phone better than the google apps. I would appreciate any help thanks!
