After I installed this update (OS X 10.11.6), I am no longer able to use the scanning function of my "HP Color LaserJet MFP M277dw". The printer does not appear in ImageCapture.
Is it possible to rollback this update?

What you could try is to remove the folder hp from your Library/Printers folder, just move it onto the Desktop in case you need to put it back. Now download this, HP Printer Drivers v3.1 for OS X double click to install. Restart your Mac, plug in your printer go to System Preferences and reset your printing system, macOS Sierra: Reset the printing system
don't worry that it says Sierra its the same instructions for El Capitan.
There are OS X 10.11 HP updates for your printer dated Mar 29 2018. These are not in the October 2017 HP Printer Software update v5.1 from Apple.
The same print, scan, and fax support for the M277dw is in the HP Printer Drivers v3.1 and v5.1 for OS X download from Apple's downloads area.
