Facebook & Linkedin login from MAC not working

Hi All,

I'm owner of a MAC BOOK PRO 2017, I'm running 10.13.4 High Sierra OS, and since few days MACOS is asking me to enter again the FACEBOOK and LINKEDIN password.

If I try to enter the password by clicking the notification, the answer is always that "is not possible to verify the password", in the past I fixed this by entering the password in the setting account menu.

This time Facebook and Linkedin don't want to work, I tried to re-install the accounts in ACCOUNTS setting but nothing.

My suspicious is that is something related with the new GDPR privacy law here in Europe, or a missing consent somewhere...

I'm having the same problem, Facebook and Linkedin asking for a password, and then for the verification SMS again and again in a loop. None fixed for me for the time being.

In the past I already had problems with Facebook and the notifications, every time something happened, it said 59 events had happened 😀

So far I tried to…

Restart several times, also in safe mode
Delete preference files and everything related to these two networks
Delete every item in the Keychain related to Facebook or Linkedin
Delete the accounts and add them back again - it looks like it working until you try to do something, the it asks you again for the password.

Twitter works fine. It's just Facebook and Linkedin.

Its this new data thing which has happened. Its broken quite a few things. I am unable to look at web sites if they are in the states and I am here in the UK.

Starting is safe mode DOES NOT work to correct the issue.

We will have to wait till a silent update is pushed or Apple addresses the problem. In the meantime we just have to sit tight.

I also have the same problem since GDPR came in force. Both LI and FB are not working in the Mac internet accounts. I deleted all passwords in keychain, and re-created new passwords, rebooted laptop several times, but nothing seemed to work.

Facebook are aware of the situation as I placed a help request on their 'facebook community' Its happening to a lot of people.

Like I said we have to sit tight and wait for this to be fixed. Give it a while for all this GDPR nonsense to claim down and I am sure it will be sorted.
