I’ve noticed that pressing the notification on my iPhone 7, then pressing the “zoomed” version of the notification takes me straight past the lock screen (without any touch ID).
Surely this is a problem - am I missing something ? I can’t see any option to set this to happen deliberately. I have the latest IOS.
It depends on what you allow on your lock screen. settings>touch ID and passcode - allow access when locked
You are certainly missing something, but from your description it's hard to say what you are missing. A lot of people press the HOME button, then a notification, and it goes right to the app. If that's what you mean, when you press the HOME button with a finger you have registered with Touch ID you unlock the phone.

This is without touching the home button at all. If I touched the home button and it unlocked I would not think it was an issue...

I have “Allow access to recent notifications” and a couple of others such as “control centre”, but when I touch an active notification twice I then have full access to the phone.
