Mac constantly asking for Facebook password

After changing my Facebook password, I keep getting a notification from the system (NOT the browser) "Facebook Password Required: Enter your password in Internet Accounts." In System Preferences -> Internet Accounts, clicking on Facebook gives me the message "Can't connect to the account Facebook. Enter the password for user [MY NAME]" When I put the password in, it says "Unable to verify account name or password."

The password is correct. I can log in to facebook just fine through the browser or on my phone, but after I changed the password in the browser, it broke the integration with mac apps through the system (for instance, I cannot post a photo to facebook from the photos app anymore). I've tried deleting the facebook account entirely from System Preferences and making a new one, but the same problem occurs.

I'm on a Macbook Air running the current version of High Sierra.

I was having this issue and I think I've found a solution. Go to security and login then choose two-factor authentication. At the bottom you have an option for recovery codes. Get this list and choose one. Put that in as your password and it will accept it. Haven't had the nagging message for some time now.
