Whatsapp message notifications with no name of sender?

Recently I have been getting whatsapp notifications with no name of the sender. I thought at first that the problem was just with one person, but then other people from my contacts texted me and the same thing happens with everyone. Everytime I get a notification it only says ‘Message’ unlike before where it said ‘Message from (name of contact)’. I tried turning back on the ‘Show Preview’ since it was off, and it shows the name of the person with the message, but as soon as I turn it off the persons name dissappears and only says ‘Message’. I have tried deleting the app and re-installing it, turning the phone on and off, Denying and then allowing Whatsapp to acces my Contacts, and even denying the access to notifications completely. If someone knows how to fix it please let me know.
