Has anyone else had issues with getting your iPad fixed?

So I went to the apple store a few weeks ago and I tried to get my iPad 5 fixed ! I've called several times and even tried to make appointments online but never made it to the appointments due to work . Anyways when I finally went my screen had a little crack in it although I was going because a month after I got the iPad the buttons got stuck and it started turning up and down on it's own and also the power of screen would pop up during me using the iPad . I reported this several times online and over the phone before the screen got a small crack in it . When I got there the lady told me they would replace it for free since buttons are a manufacturer issue . After asking me if she could take off my glass screen protector which put another crack going through the middle of the screen she insisted the crack was already there even though it wasn't visable before removing the protector .she said that it looked like the side of the screen was lifted a little and asked if id had the screen replaced which I didn't . She went back and talked to someone and came and told me they had to charge me $240 because it was accidental damage . And of course they couldn't find any record of me setting up appointment for the buttons issues or even notes of me calling and speaking to an agent . I'm extremely disappointed in apple I've had an iPhone since the iPhone 5 came out and was very satisfied before this !

How can you tell me it's accidental after my screen was damaged even more by the employee the crack that was in the screen was no were near the buttons and was so tiny you could barely see it . This my first time having an iPad and I was extremely happy to use it which I was only able to do for a month ! Ive seen plenty of people with this same issue on the iPad that necer caused and damage to the iPad . And can't they atleast go back and listen to the recordings of next calling before the screen was .Cracked I even had several confirmation emails for my appointments Im thinking I will switch to Samsung Because I paid go much money for this iPad to have basically pay for a whole new one due to something caused by the company I just wanted to give people a heads up about the iPad 5 I have other people telling that had same issue and they weren't able to get there's fixed

Issues are certainly no fun, but I’m afraid this is a user to user forum, so no one here has any real power to help you.

I can suggest that you make another appointment, and bring with you any documentation that you made appointments, etc....and politely, keep kicking your issue up the chain. Work beyond the tech to the manager.

No promises of course because, unfortunately, unless manufacturing issues are documented and noted by apple personnel before anything that can be called accidental damage occurred , something like a cracked screen can take the blame for any sort of other issues.

Basicaly take in your proof of your efforts to get it fixed earlier, take all that in and see if you can get them to change their mind.

Unless it was due to a defect, a cracked screen or any other accidental damage is pretty much a disqualifying condition for any warranty replacement. All iPad models are only "repaired" by Apple for the customer as a complete replacement with a "replacement device" that could be new or refurbished. Even a battery replacement service is a complete replacement, albeit at a lower price. Apple's solution for a cracked screen is the complete replacement price, which in your case is $249+tax in the US.

Yeah - there are central facilities that fix up iPads to send back as retail or replacement refurbished devices, but Apple has never used those facilities to return a repaired device back to the customer.
