Playing MIDI files.

Apple takes another small step backwards and removes the ability to play MIDI files from whatever QuickTime 7 was using to play them, when running Yosemite (or later, I suppose) versions of the OS. I do not want to load them into Garage Band or logic. What do I use now?

Moves like this, that disrupt people's established workflows, and their wholsale abandonment of the pro products I paid a lot of money for, are why I am selling my Apple Stock.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.5), iMac 27 inch.

Well, the results as shown in my screenshot speak for themselves. It is a shame that Apple took something that just worked, and made it something that does not. This experience is not unique lately. It’s cause is something that Apple better fix ASAP if they want to remain in existence. If I or others wanted to cobble together a solution for each and every thing that Apple had broken, we’d be at it a long time, and we don’t have the benefits of their deep pockets and inside information on the lowest levels of their hardware and software. There was a LONG period of time when new things did not break older ones, when Apple’s products were concerned. They REALLY need to go back to that.
