Updated to 10.13.5, lost Bluetooth
I updated to 10.13.5, lost Bluetooth. I "reset" the module, trashed the BT preferences, nothing worked. Help?
MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.5), iPad Pro 9.7, Watch 42mm, iPhone X

I have unplugged all cables from my laptop (external video, power cable etc.) and shutdown it for 10 minutes. After starting it up again, bluetooth was available again.
Note that rebooting or shutting down for 1-2 minutes didn't help me.
Good luck!
More info. Upon shut down for approx. 10 minutes and restart, I was able to access bluetooth options. My mouse and keyboard were listed there, but only the mouse was listed as "connected," although it was unresponsive. I attempted to remove and re-pair, but the laptop never "found" the device. Upon another restart, the previously removed devices were once again listed in the bluetooth settings. Feels like I'm stuck on this one. I hope a fix is coming soon.
Not really an option. Nearest Apple store is about 2 hours away. I put a call in to tech support and they had me reinstall the os, but that didn't solve anything. It's not a hardware issue... Update was crap. Too many people complaining about the same thing.
The mac indicates Bluetooth is on. But its not on nothing can see it and it cannot see devices. The devices work fine with another mac. The option to turn bluetooth off is greyed out.
The other mac is running 10.13.4. I am reticent about updating it.
I not there have been issues with blue tooth disappearing upon installation of other High Sierra updates.
Will try making an appointment at a Genius bar. Bur that will take some time as I cannot get there easily on work days.
Bluetooth mouse worked fine with other PC. Apple tech support had me reinstall the os. Nothing has helped. Very frustrated... First time I've had serious issues with an update. Laptop locked up on me last night for the first time ever.
just updated to 10.13.5. Bluetooth now completely broken. Cannot turn it off (option is grayed out), cannot connect to any known devices, new devices no appearing in list. Resetting nvram, resetting bluetooth module and deleting all bluetooth preferences does nothing. Thanks, Apple.
I have switched things off and on in various ways as suggested above but still no Bluetooth.
I found if I run Create WiFi Diagnostics (on the WiFi Pulldown with option shift)
There is a section on Bluetooth status
# --- Bluetooth Status
Power : Off
MAC Address : None
Discoverable : No
Connectable : No
Scanning : No
Devices : 0 (paired=0 cloud=0 connected=0)
Which indicates everything is off.
Wheres the Bluetooth menu indicates Bluetooth is on and cannot be turned off (because that option is greyed out).
And the the System report (About this Mac) which indicates Bluetooth is on.

Exact same problem after 10.13.5 update in to my iMac Retina 5K, 27", late 2015.Just updated to 10.13.5 bluetooth now completely broken. Cannot turn it off (option is grayed out), cannot connect to any known devices, new devices no appearing in list. Resetting SMC, NVRAM, bluetooth module. I can not find BT preferences for deleting.
They said that like "in the meantime until the next update" right? They can't suggest this like "we broke your BT hardware with our software update" and it's none repairable?! Unbelievable!
I have to carry my laptop to work since my iMac doesn't have any BT. I miss my TrackPad, Magic Mouse and connecting my AirPods! The iMac is now absolutely useless.
What actually is "this" that worked.
There are various fixes mentioned in this thread I have not yet found any of them to work (restore bluetooth) alone or in combination.
SMC reset (with varying off time) with/without devices connected
PRAM reset
revert to earlier OS (13.5.4).
Nonethless some seem to work in some cases (but there are also many who don't have the problem at all).
If there is a new thread with a solution please point to it.
I've decided not to go ahead with the hardware fix as yet on my work macbook as Apple wanted me to pay £150 for the work to happen. I'm waiting to see what the outcome is and instead have plugged in keyboard and mouse and headphones until there is no other option. I also won't be upgrading my personal macbook (also a 2015 model) until I have some form of fix or assurance from apple this will be fixed by them for free given their update caused the problem and now over 100+ people agree.
Like others, my Bluetooth module broke when 10.13.5 was installed on a MacBook (Retina, 12-inch, Early 2015). I've tried all of the various ideas on this thread (NVRAM, SMC, .plist, shutdown overnight, ...) in a variety of orders and I got nowhere. I've delayed a visit to Apple for their advice as I hoped that 10.13.6 might fix it ... but alas, today's update hasn't helped. I'll be really disappointed if they try to charge me ...
Having this problem since 10.13.5 update. Unsuccessfully tried all those resetting stuff.
Today 10.14 has been installed - no news with bluetooth, still greyed. MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015),

I put back 10.13.3 and also there is no bluetooth icon, or bluetooh module.
How does one revert and resurrect bluetooth without a mouse
Got usb mouse and ran diagnostics/ No issues detected. Problem persists, I notice 10..13.5 is no longer available on the App Store.
