iOS 11.4 WiFi Problems

iOS 11.4 on iPhone 6 and iPad Pro. WiFi drops on iPad and then does not reconnect until numerous attempts, turning WiFi on/off, connecting to different network, or powering iPad on/off. Phone has no problem nor do my many Windows computers nor do my SmartTVs. It’s not my router or signal strength. Is this an iPad Pro chipset problem? Also, I have WiFi Networking turned off under Privacy setting for both phone and iPad

Go to settings and open your wifi. Select your wifi by touching the wifi name. Click on Forget This Network. Touch Forget this Network (in red to confirm). Then open up WIFI to rediscover your network and re-enter your password for your network.

This fixed my WIFI issues on iphone 6 plus and iphone 8 running ios 11.4 so far.😉

Yep.... big problem and now can’t roll back to 11.3.1 as it’s gone. I was at Apple yesterday and people were lined up with the same problem. Doesn’t seem to affect iPhones as much. Apple’s solution? The usual... But nothing works. It was very satisfying for me to see the “genius” wife out my iPad to ‘new’ state, reapply IOS, only to have my iPad refuse to connect to the store‘s WiFi.

Cmon apple...

get with it. Fix these crazy problems. Btw, a few acquai are running IOS12 BETA AND ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM☹!

I’m wondering how aware they are. I’ve been reading the 11.4.1 developer blogs and can’t find anything about the WiFi issue, but lots on WiFi message syncing and other things that use WiFi. It could be that the WiFi issue that we‘re experiencing is just a symptom of a new feature that’s in 11.4, but some are reporting the problem with 11.3 also.

I have the same issue. I have tried all tips attempting to find a final solution to my Wi-Fi issue but unfortunately, nothing has worked so far. I connect with my home WiFi and it stays connected for few seconds, then disconnects without any warning. Also at work, in different WiFi connection and relatively stronger signal, same issues. The iOS 11.4 has a bug and it needs to be fixed. I’ve heard that iOS 12 beta version has same issues. It is annoying because you think you are on Wi-Fi and actually you are not. Besides, it costly and not productive. APPLE, any luck???

I go to iPhone WiFi is says disconnected. Happened after 11.4 installed. iPads works fine after install TV’s work fine on AT&T. iPhone will show router name if I go to settings, WiFi and look up my router name it says disconnected so I go to the router name tap on it shows and leaves right away. I think there is something about iCloud Drive maybe. I turned it off and router came back briefly, longer than any time since download. It did keep asking for WiFi password. When is there going to be an Apple fix for this I wonder. I’m not wanting to install 12 if it is not helping.

Can’t anyone admit that this problem is related to the iPad Pro and 11.4 . I called Apple care today about no WiFi on iPad Pro they reset the network in settings then it worked for a couple of hours . Apple care technician in complete denial about cause of problem . How could it be your router if all your other apple devices or PCs connect fine . It’s a FUBAR created by Apple

I spent time online with Apple support, which didn't help, so I did a factory reset, which also didn't help. Do you have problems with ALL wireless networks or just one/some? I have narrowed my problem down to my office at work. In other buildings on campus it stays connected, same network. I can manually connect to WiFi, but it drops quickly (as in I have to have already composed and then rush to send a text if I want it to go through) and doesn't auto-join (again, in my office only). This happened the moment I updated to 11.4.1. Never had an issue prior.

Apple wants to blame the network, and IT here says " if others don't have a problem (they don't, not even in my office), and it happened with the update, it's the phone". I guess I'm headed to the genius bar this weekend.
