5 icons on dock

Hi, is it possible to have 5 icons on the dock without jailbreak? I have iPhone 7 plus.

why do icons appear in the dock when i did not move them there? IOS 12 —- New icons appear in the dock. I don’t want them there. Not sure how they get there if I don’t add them myself!
