Is the $.99 50 GB price a trial price?

Sounds like a good deal, I could never afford extra storage from iCloud before because it was always $99. Before I go ahead and order it, I just need to know whether this is going to be the standard monthly fee or if it is a trial for a certain period of time?

Thank you

.99 cents has been the monthly price for 50GB of iCloud for several years now. It's not an introductory or trial price and does not change after any set period of time.

If they do increase it at any time it probably won't be to $60 or $90. A normal price increase to maybe $1.20 is more likely. but its impossible to know when or if they really plan on doing this.

As it is $.99 is the going monthly rate.

I see your post just fine.

Is this true?

No. There's no reason for that to be the case. Are you having an issue activating an iPhone 6s on iOS 9?

iCloud Lock and Activation Lock are the same thing. Activation Lock requires the device be signed into iCloud, and Find My iPhone be turned on. You cannot have Activation Lock, without iCloud.

Any reason you have not updated either iPhone to iOS 10 or 11?

For whatever its worth, I have an iPhone 6 Plus running fine on iOS 11.

Now that has got to be the most rude and unhelpful response I have ever gotten in these forums, and I just want Apple to know that I find your response totally inappropriate and especially unhelpful.

Take a lesson from the person who responded after you, simply answer my question without all of the rude rhetoric.

Thank you once again, on the basis of your response i have purchased this. On my limited income I have to find out if something offered at $0.99 is not some iintroductory offer (Like Spotify service- which is normally 10 dollars a month, but they offer 3 mos at 99¢). The last time I checked about any apple storage service was during the “me dot com” service which was something like 99 dollars per year, they offered a short trial for free or low cost.

In fact it wasn’t until I got my first iPhone that I took advantage of the free 5gb iCloud space. Well, that was in 2010, and that space has finally become totally filled.

Before I made the plunge I had to ask, and I had not checked the other storage options since 2010, they didn’t offer anything this good back then, and honestly, I never looked at other storage offers through my parade of iPhone 2g, 4, 4S, 5S, and two 6s+ (Which I bought twice because of price).

Much appreciation,

I am considering paying the $0.99 to get the additional 50GB. So does that mean that every month I will be auto-billed $0.99 for 50 more? Further, if I pay for one month and then cancel when the month is over, are you saying that I'll be downgraded back to only 5GB and not have the 50GB (or 55GB?) anymore?

Hope you can clarify. Seems like I've been getting conflicting (or incomplete) answers.

Thanks.

You pay the .99 cents every month to maintain access to the 50GB. not 55GB.

You do not get 50GB each month. You get access to the same 50GB of storage space every month you pay for it. in other words it does not increase the storage space every month.

It's like renting a storage bin. You only get access to it while you pay. And the bin does not get larger as pay each month.

If you stop paying you no longer have access to the 50GB, and are downgraded back to the free 5GB. Anything that exceeds the 5GB is deleted from the account.

you are working really hard to make a very simple thing complex - you choose how much iCloud storage you need and you pay for it monthly- if you do not pay your storage bill then it reverts to the free 5 GB and you lose everything above that

It is simple an straight forward - nothing complicated at all - no different than your cable TV selection, your internet service or any other monthly subscription service in the entire world

sign up for 50 GB and pay a monthly charge, increase it to 200 GB and pay a higher monthly charge, same for 2 TB - choose your service adn pay for it each and every month - simple as can be
