If your iPhone is disabled, see the instructions in this support document to enable it, If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support

If the phone is not disabled, but your Apple ID is, then see this, If your Apple ID is locked or disabled - Apple Support

What exactly are you seeing on the screen?

If your phone is disabled you must restore it using the procedure in this link-->If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support

It is not possible to recover data from a disabled phone, but after restoring it you can restore your most recent iCloud or iTunes backup and enable iCloud sync to any data that you had set up to sync before it became disabled.

There is no solution. Yes, ONCE the FBI recovered data from a disabled phone. It cost them $900,000. And the method that was used won’t work anymore.

If they were important photos you should have backed them up. If they were REALLY important you would have enabled iCloud Photos, which would have copied them to iCloud as soon as they were taken. Or any of these other options:

  • iCloud backup
  • iTunes backup
  • Transfer your photos to your computer via USB cable
  • Apple Photo Stream
  • Sync to Google Photos
  • Sync to some other photo archiving service such as Shutterfly
  • Sync to Dropbox
  • Sync to box.com
  • back up to Livedrive
  • Backup to any other backup or archiving service

Are you sure you did NONE of these basic steps to protect your photos?

Yes, your screen broke. But suppose your phone was lost or stolen. You would have lost the photos. Or you dropped it in a toilet. You would have lost the photos. Or it got thrown under a bus. You would have lost the photos.

If it’s disabled it is too late to get anything off of it. That’s what backups and iCloud sync are for. If you didn’t do either you will have to start over with a clean slate.

to Rex enable the phone see this Apple support link If you forgot the passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is disabled - Apple Support or watch this companion video:

If your device has iOS 15.2 or later installed, you can reset it without a computer; check out this link→How to reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when you forgot your passcode - Apple Support. Otherwise you will need a computer:

My mom is 81 and disabled. Now her iPhone is also disabled, and can only be erased? She has no computer, no WiFi, doesnt understand iCloud, and never backed it up. This is a cruel and unfair policy

Problem with joining thread from 2018 is that the Apple Recommended advice gets out of date.

For iOS15 onwards there should be an “Erase IPhone” button bottom right to erase the iphone without using a computer.

Else borrow a computer

Else visit an Apple Store.

Look after your mom. Too late to advise a backup now and iCloud Photos and iCloud Backup are on by default so must have been manually turned off by a “well wisher” .
