Bootcamp always worked perfectly fine before this. Suddenly it stopped working when I decided to reinstalling windows. I narrowed the driver down to the Intel hd 3000 driver, since uninstalling it in safe mode fixes the problem. I need some sort of way to get the driver so if anyone knows what‘s going on that’d be great.
I’m using a Macbook Air mid-2011 running Windows 8.1, previously running MacOS Sierra.

Did you install the driver from Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5621 package? If yes, please note

Thanks for all of the help but I figured out the problem. For some reason installing windows off of the EFI boot partition caused none of the drivers to work.
If anyone has this problem install windows using the “Windows” partition, not “EFI Boot”

I got Windows 8.1 up and running again and I had a few problems. For one, when I started the Bootcamp setup, it said the software was made for Windows 7 only, and ended the installation. I tried compatibility mode, but that gave me a different error, saying it wasn't compatible with my system. Secondly, I tried installing the drivers separately to see if that would work, but all of the drivers are 32-bit, and I'm running a 64-bit operating system.
I set up a system restore point so I can easily get back to windows 8 if the broken driver gets installed again.

Can you download the BC drivers package for your specific model from Install Windows 7 on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support? The drivers support W7/W8.1, even though link mentions W7.
Did you install the BC drivers which are recommended for your specific model? The drivers on Intel website will cause lost of problems.
I’m pretty sure I did. I ran the bootcamp setup program as soon as windows finished installing. I’ve never had this problem before, so I’m honestly not sure what’s going on.
Thanks I'll try that out. Support asked me to reinstall MacOS and told me to bring it into the store... -_- I'll just try this out.
2012 and older Macs require legacy BIOS, not EFI Boot. Good to see it working.
