Time Capsule not showing on Airport Utility

I am trying to reconnected my Time Capsule (2009) after a period offline. Its flashing amber, but I can't even see it on Airport Utility to try recommended troubleshooting recommended elsewhere.

I am running OS 10.10.5 and AirPort Utility 6.3.5 all on a Macbook Pro 15" (2009).

Unfortunately, "disappearing Time Capsules" (and other AirPorts) is a common bug in AirPort Utility.

We assume that you have Shut Down the MacBook Pro, waited a minute, then powered it back up, correct?

Simplest thing to try.....if your MacBook Pro has an Ethernet port.....is to connect an Ethernet cable from the MacBook Pro to one of the three LAN <--> ports on the Time Capsule and check to see if the Time Capsule will appear that way.

If your MacBook Pro does not have an Ethernet port, or the Ethernet cable connection still does not work......check the following on your MacBook Pro:

Open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock)

Open Network

Click on WiFi on the left panel to highlight the setting

Click Advanced at the lower right of the next window

Click the TCP/IP tab at the top of the next window

Make sure that the setting for Configure IPv6 is set to Link Local Only

Click OK

Click Apply in the next window (this is an easy step to miss)

If an Ethernet connection appears in the left panel of the window, click on Ethernet to highlight it, then perform the exact same steps as above.

Power off the Time Capsule.

Shut down the Mac, wait a minute, then start the Mac back up.

Check to see if the Time Capsule now appears in AirPort Utility.
