Time Machine Applications

I am surprised that my Time Machine does not copy my Application folders, Photos, and their extension (Safari browser and other browsers for bookmarks and customized preferences, passwords due 3rd party services).

How can I backup these files?

I see. But, what does it has to do with this: "/Users/Shared/adi"? Is that a new username as adi?

No, that is not a username and, frankly, I have no idea what it means - why? Because I've never turned on or set up Time Machine on this particular machine. Instead, I only use bootable clone backups. So, this must have been there by default. But that is only a guess.

In any case, that is the window where you can exclude items. If you have none listed, then it should be backing up everything.

Interface? Oh do I have to add the Applications on the list manually? The woman at the Apple store told me that it will automatically everything in the backup but I realized that she is wrong.

If I backup the Applications on the external hard disk drive, will they be saved with the passwords and customized preferences (Safari/Firefox bookmarks and Add-ons)?

Why this Exclude button shows me? The exclude means not save these files/folder.

How can I save the Application folder on my external hard disk? Let's say that I have to drag the Application folder onto the external hard disk manually. However, that is not included the other folder like System folder because they are part of the spider links between the apps (software) and System folder - sort of spider links. Sound right?
