EVGA GeForce GTX 750ti stopped working with latest OSX 10.11.6 (15G21013)

I'm using a Mac Pro (early 2009) OSX 10.11.6 (15G21013) with a GeForce GTX 750ti. I know everything is still working with Windows through bootcamp so all hardware is functioning nominally.

When is an update expected to allow my graphics card to start working again? In the past when an OS X prevents my graphics card from working it would start working again once Nvidia released a companion driver update for the OS X update. In this case their customer support is claiming everything is updated and I've got the most current drivers installed.

Is this going to turn into the blame game? Nvidia blames Apple and Apple blames Nvidia?

Updating to the next OS X or updating my computer are not options.

I need a OS X or driver solution. It's currently preventing work and my graphics card is currently only useful as a crappy door stop.

Thank you for your help.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. Also try the Safe Mode.

Isolating an issue by using another user account

Safe Mode - About

Safe Mode Startup – El Capitan. also Sierra

If it works in the Safe Mode, try running this program when booted normally and then copy and paste the output in a reply. The program was created by Etresoft, a frequent contributor. Please use copy and paste as screen shots can be hard to read. Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy to Clipboard” and then paste into a reply. This will show what is running on your computer. No personal information is shown.
