Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
When login out the login screen does not return. We just get a black screen. The cursor is still active but the keyboard just beeps whatever we do. Have to power off and on again to get back in.
This ocurred after upgrading to High Sierra
We are running a 21.5in iMac with High Sierra 10.13.5
iMac with Retina 5K display, macOS High Sierra (10.13.5)
Start your mac in Safe Mode and tell us if the same problem also occurs in Safe Mode.
Then restart normally, and try again.
Also, create a new user account and check if the problem also occurs when you log out from that new account.

Thanks for this it worked OK in safe mode and was still OK after restarting
