Restoring saved desktop windows/spaces/tabs and shares

HI all ... I run multiple desktops in macOS and have set applications to run on certain desktops/spaces to suit how I work. I wonder is there a way to save/restore finder windows of certain shares in specific desktops?

I use Mountain to easily reconnect to network drives which is quite effective.

Also ... in finder I have multiple tabs -- is there any way to open finder and automatically restore my 6 favourite tabs (which are folders on shares/common folders.

... and finally, any recommendations on a good cleaning app - such as CC Cleaner - I note the macOS version isn't compatible with 10.13.x

thanks in advance 🙂

Keen to hear why not - for both?

Thanks for the suggestion however that has no effect on FINDER tabs.

If you quit and restart Finder it should restore any tabs and windows that were open.

It certainly does for me.

Also, it is not hard to create a little Automator workflow to er... automatically open a bunch of Finder windows or tabs on specified folders. You can even assign a keyboard shortcut to such a service, so it will only take, say, command-shift-control-a to open all the desired tabs. Let me know if you want to do something like that and need some assistance.

Antivirus programs can only detect the threats they know. Since there are no mac virus in the wild, they know zero, so they detect nothing.

The OS already has the necessary protections in place - code has to be signed, for example; SIP prevents changing important system files; the list of malware is updated silently in the background; and more.

In addition to not offering any protection, antiviruses tend to conflict with system normal operation.

"Cleaners" are utterly unnecessary, and known to cause your system to malfunction by deleting things that should be there. Some among them are notorious bad, some are effectively malware. If you search on this forums for "cleanmymac" or "mackeeper" you will probably find many sad stories.

There is a small number of genuine and dependable programs that can do some of the things you mention, but most of it can also be achieved by simply restarting in Safe Mode, and restarting again, or by going to the appropriate Cache folders, dragging to the trash and restarting.
