What if my old carrier refuses to unlock my iphone?

You may not owe them anything/$$ but if you signed up for a 2 year (or whatever) agreement and cancelled it early, that is likely why they won’t unlock them.

You can't. You must meet T-Mobile's requirements for unlocking. If you don't, then you can't get it unlocked.

Sounds like you skipped out on your agreement with them or otherwise still owe them money.

There is nothing anyone else can do about it. Only the carrier it's locked to can legally authorize unlocking it.

At this point I seemly two alternatives for you. You can continue to talk to T-Mobile in an effort to correct whatever problems exist between you and them or you can sell it.

You're probably not going to get them to unlock the phone until you settle up any balance that resulted from that.

I don't know about T-Mobile but there are many carriers that will only unlock phones for current customers. If you are no longer a customer that may be why they won't unlock it.
