why is Safari saving my search history when i have history paused on google

When I search on google my last 3 searches are displayed..l have set my google history to paused as advised. It makes no difference whether I’m signed in or not. Is there a way to stop this happening? I am using an iPad Air,but this does not happen on my iPhone 6 Plus. Thank you for any help

Hi, Noreen,

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand that Safari is saving your search history and you would prefer that did not happen. I'm happy to help!

Search settings within Google will help when access Google from various devices and web browsers, but those settings are separate from the settings of the web browser itself. In this case, you're using Safari as your web browser, so you'd want to adjust your Safari settings as well to stop your history from saving. To do that, enable Private Browsing: Browse in private in Safari on Mac - Apple Support .

Have a wonderful day!
